Rising Star Award – Prix de L’Étoile Montante

Sponsored by Steamatic Canada, the Rising Star Award – Prix de L’étoile montante is awarded annually to a candidate who is actively employed or closely affiliated with the insurance industry, who shows potential to be an industry leader and person of influence, and has distinguished themselves through their initiative, both within their employment and the insurance industry as a whole.

The award is intended to promote CAIW as a leading association in the industry, with a reputation for fostering professional development among members through education, networking, and personal growth. Recipients are recognized and promoted through the awarding of a prestigious prize package intended to encourage new membership and generate interest in the CAIW.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Rising Star award, the nominated candidate must:

  • Be a member of CAIW
  • Be employed in or closely affiliated with the insurance industry in Canada
  • Be 39 years of age or younger at the time of the deadline date to submit nominations
  • Have not been a recipient of the Rising Star Award in past
  •  

The ideal candidate has achieved significant success in their career, and has shown a high-level of professionalism and motivation. Other factors may include engagement in his or her company, the insurance industry as a whole, and the community at large. These accomplishments should be tangiblydemonstrated in the candidate’s CV, reference letters, and any other supporting documents provided as part of the nomination package.

Nomination Process

Nominees may self-nominate, submitting their own CV’s along with a letter of referral from their employer and any other relevant documentation or letters of support. Alternatively, someone may be nominated by their association, a peer, or their employer, with a summary of professional and personal accomplishments and a letter of support. There is no limit to the number of nominations from each association.

Three finalists from the pool of candidates will be selected by Steamatic Canada. The applications of the three finalists will then be forwarded on to a selection committee comprised of a selection of CAIW members and one Steamatic representative. From among these three finalists, an award recipient is selected by the committee.

Prize

  • Personalized award of recognition.
  • Cash prize of $500 plus a donation in the winner’s name in the amount of $300 to a registered charity of their choice.
